About joyfulbutterfly.com

joyfulbutterfly.com was created out of my growing adoration for butterflies. I am a wife and a Mom of two young kids. As of the beginning of 2010 my daughter is about four and a half years old and my son is about three years old.

We started growing caterpillars indoors several years ago and now that we have become enamoured by these beautiful insects we read everything we can about butterflies and continue to expand our garden to attract different butterflies. We look forward to each spring/summer and the new adventures we will have with our butterfly friends.

I have been amazed at how much fun my kids and I have with the amazing butterfly metamorphosis. Butterflies have provided us a high level of education and entertainment (and even exercise chasing them around outdoors)! The goal of this website is to share the fascination and fun we have had and continue to have raising butterflies, eggs, caterpillars, and chrysalises indoors. Also we want to share all the wonderful extras that go along with butterflies like butterfly gardening and photos. Butterfly lore and unique butterfly gifts are also in the future plans of this website.
