Butterfly Soap Scents

Lavender –  A blend of lavender and cedarwood essential oils. This soap is soft and subtle with a classic soothing lavender scent. As an essential oil in soap, lavender is calming and can have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties to keep skin healthy. In the butterfly garden, lavender serves as a fragrant nectar plant.  Cedarwood essential oil can add to the health of your skin with it’s antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Lime Rose – A blend of lime and rose geranium essential oils. This aromatic blend puts you in mind of fresh, bright lime and soft roses. Lime essential oil is rejuvenating and can brighten skin while containing potential healing properties like many other essential oils.  In the butterfly garden, lime/citrus varieties serve as host plants for Giant Swallowtails. Rose geranium is a lightly used nectar plant in a butterfly garden but as an essential oil it can bring balance, moisturizing, and toning to your skincare routine while being very well known for its pleasant floral scent.

Monarda Dreams – a blend of orange, bergamot, and cedarwood essential oils creating an aroma of sweet orange, floral, and herbal notes. Orange essential oil, like lime, can gift you with brightening and rejuvenation of skin while also being antimicrobial and antifungal.  As is for lime, orange also feeds the Giant Swallowtail caterpillars in the butterfly garden. Bergamot oil is uplifting, calming and mood enhancing while also contributing to skin brightening and an even complexion.  While sharing the same name with Monarda (Bee Balm, which is a great nectar plant in the butterfly garden), “bergamot” essential oil is derived from a citrus plant that happens to share the same name.

Rose Geranium – a blend of rose geranium and cedarwood essential oils.  This has the aroma of fresh cut roses with an herbal undertone.  While “roses” are not generally a nectar plant (they are a host plant for a number of moths), “rose geranium” in the geranium family, is a nectar plant.  As described above, Rose geranium essential oil is balancing, moisturizing and toning to your skin with a great aroma.

Soap Details

Made with high quality grass-fed beef tallow, olive oil, coconut oil and castor oil, this special blend produces a bar that gently cleanses with a rich creamy lather. Larger than many handcrafted bars, each is at least 5 oz net weight and is roughly 4″x3″x1″.
